One Law for All

By Leta Van Brussel

Anyone who teaches you anything different from “one law” for all believers and followers of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Ad-nai) is setting himself up as an authority greater than G-D, who Himself spoke these words to Moses and spoke them throughout His prophets:

Exodus 12:49 The same Torah applies to the native as well as the outsider who dwells among you.”

Numbers 9:14 “If an outsider living among you would celebrate Passover to Adonai according to the requirement, so he should do. There will be for you the same regulation for the outsider and the native of the land.’”

Numbers 15:13-16 “Everyone native-born is to do these things like so when bringing a fire offering as a pleasant aroma to Adonai. Whenever an outsider resides with you, or whoever is among you for your generations to come, and he is to present a fire offering as a fragrant aroma to Adonai, as you do, he must do exactly the same as you are doing. “The community will have the same rule for you as well as for the resident outsider. It will be a lasting statute throughout your generations. As for you, so for the outsider will it be before Adonai. The same Torah and the same regulations will apply to both you and the outsider residing among you.”

Isaiah 56:6-7 Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, to minister to Him, and to love the Name of Adonai, and to be His servants— all who keep from profaning Shabbat, and hold fast to My covenant — these I will bring to My holy mountain, and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar. For My House will be called a House of Prayer for all nations.”

Those hurt me deeply who teach one law for those of Jewish descent, and a separate law for those of non-Jewish descent who love and choose to call the G-D of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob their G-D.

Matthew 5:17-19 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Galatians 3:28-29 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female—for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua. And if you belong to Messiah, then you are Abraham’s seed—heirs according to the promise.

Because I love G-D, I desire to follow all of His commandments. He is my loving father and provider. I desire to honor Him in everything I do. And you, who say there are separate laws for non-Jews by descent, say I am not allowed to honor Him in this way?

One G-D created all of humankind in His Own Image and Likeness. He gave all of us rules to live by that we may honor Him and live together in peace. He is a G-D of order - not chaos - look at the rest of the universe and all of nature.

To say part of the Torah does not apply to non-Jews is to say part of it has been replaced by different rules for some of humanity. That is what we have now - replacement theology - and leads to chaos and war.

I have been blessed in that I came to know G-D on my own, not through any religion, before I came to Messianic Judaism. I developed a relationship with Him, that is my own relationship with Him, regardless of man’s changing interpretations of his Being and His laws. Therefore, I can overcome and survive these differences in man’s interpretation, clinging to my relationship with G-D as I know Him, and what He said in the Bible.
